  CERTIFICATION

What is certification?

The government, and many larger businesses that have government contracts, have goals to place a certain amount of their work with small, minority and women-owned businesses. Certification is simply a process that ensures or verifies that your business is truly woman-owned and can qualify for special contracting opportunities with government agencies and major corporations.

Who should become certified?

The government and companies doing business with the government are, with increasing frequency, requiring certification to ensure their vendors are woman-owned. If you want to bid on government contracts, or do business with companies who are involved with the government, it is essential that you become certified.

How do I begin the process?

To make it easy for you to become certified, the Monmouth Chapter of NJAWBO holds certification workshops which will take you step by step through the paperwork required to obtain certification. When dates become available they will be advertised on our calendar.

Information is also available from the U.S. Small Business Administration .
