Committees
The short descriptions of each of the committees are designed to give you an overview of their various roles in our
organization. If you have any questions or would like more information,
call the President, or speak directly to any board member. Click

Committee | Description |
|
Membership | The membership committee is responsibile for contacting prospective members,
and conducting various activities to encourage new members to join. They also
work to see that the needs of our current members are being met. Membership maintains a
database of members and is responsible
for mailing the monthly newsletter. They set up the Chapter display at meetings and distributes new member packets.
Ambassadors greet guests and introduce them to new members. |

Awards | Seeks out qualified candidates for internal and external awards and assists the membership
in effectively marketing themselves for these awards. The Awards Committee reports to the VP Member Services. |
|
Education | The education committee is responsible for the educational needs of the
members. They act as liaison with the state office in matters
related to WBC training.
It provides annual scholarship awards to
college students attending
Monmouth/Ocean -
area schools who plan on future entrepeneurship. Scholarships are also
available to Monmouth Chapter members for the WBC Programs. The
Committee maintains the Monmouth Chapter Library.

Corporate Relations | The Corporate Relations
Committee is responsible for
obtaining sponsors for monthly meetings and other projects and activities. See Corporate Partnership Program.

|
Hospitality | The Reservations Chair takes reservations for meetings, greets people, and keeps track of meeting attendance.
|
|
Public Affairs/Legislation | The public affairs committee is responsible
for keeping members
informed of pertinent legislative issues, getting member input and involvement in political and
legislative matters. |
|
Newsletter | The newsletter committee is responsible for the production of the Chapter newsletter, Business
Talk. This includes writing aricles, editing articles, and looking for new ideas for the newsletter.
Responsibilities also include obtaining advertising for the newsletter and taking photographs at
Chapter functions. Business Talk received the NJAWBO 1999 Newsletter Award. |

Programming | The programming committee is responsible for determining dinner meeting program
topics, procuring speakers,
and making on-site arrangements for programs. |

Speakers Bureau |
Those with public speaking ability and special expertise are available for speaking engagements
at other association meetings, local businesses, colleges, etc. Click here for the Monmouth/Ocean Chapter

Marketing | The marketing committee is responsible for Chapter publicity and
marketing, including
sending press releases, meeting notice insertion, promoting special events and activities, etc. |
|
Community Relations | This members of this committee act as liaison to outside government and community organizations including
the Small Business Administration, chambers of commerce, county business schools and colleges, and local chapters of
other business and professional associations. |
|
Chapter Lending Library | This committee maintains books, videos, and audio cassettes and makes them available to members at
dinner meetings. Writes book reviews for newsletter and solicits donations of new material. Click here for a list of current titles.

Restaurant Coordination | This committee locates and reserves first rate restaurants for dinner and breakfast meetings, handles contracts,
plans menus, and arranges audio/visual equipment. |
